Is the right thing to do always better than the good thing to do? Or they are hand in hand with each other. Is the right thing to do can be bad? Or is the good thing to do can help even if it is not right?
Maybe you’ll say it is the same, if you’ve done the right thing it is also the good thing and if you’ve done the good thing it is surely the right thing. What if it is not? You perceived the right way in the wrong way.
Let’s take a look some example, In school you’re not doing great and you are thinking about cheating, well of course if you are in the right mind that is not the right thing to do because cheating is against the rules and regulation of the school, but you will observe everybody is doing that and it is the good thing to do in that very moment because it is you’re only chance to get pass the subject. Well you say, study hard to pass, because excuses are for those person not determined enough to pass. Well let’s be frank about it there are people that no matter what and how hard they will study, learning process is not that great, so they are resorting to that kind of things. Is this acceptable?
Another example is for the girls, let’s say they have fallen in love and then out of planning they became pregnant. Well let’s say the girl is in her teens and of course not ready yet to have a family on her own. She will turn to abortion, well it’s not the good thing to do but at that moment she feels that it is the right thing to do. Is her actions justified?
Another example, you caught your officemate swindling money from the company and doing some fraudulent act and of course your officemate is close to you and one of your buddies. The right thing to do is to tell your boss what is going on in your company but that would not be the good thing to perform. Is your action reasonable?
There are many instances where you get caught by the situation by which you have to choose between “The right things to do vs. the good thing to do.” But if you examine it, the right and the good is a positive connotation but rarely define its true meaning because of circumstances bending its true sense.
You can always do some right thing in life but it’s not good thing to do in particular situation and do some good thing but not right in particular moment. Even these simple words can be complicated; it depends upon your values and the cultural thing. The truth is a truth, but if it is hurting others, do you consider bending it?
We can always say that the right thing to do is to do the good things and the good thing to do is to do the right things. So much so if we are living in absolute true environment, but we all know that it is not the case.

The only problem with what you’r saying John is that if it is the “RIGHT” thing to do then someone shouldn’t have to think about what they were doing they should KNOW! That’s how you tell the difference. In that instance the “GOOD” thing will always be equal with the “RIGHT” thing!

@ John. You do have a point there, but most of the time…the Truth is always the BEST. Unless like you were a German in the time of the Holocaust: You could understand if they lied to the soldiers about hiding Jews in their homes. That would be an okay thing to lie about. Or it would be the “RIGHT” thing to do, I believe.

Okay John.
Well… Since Christmas is just around the corner….I’ll start with a Christmas discussion. So how many of you heard about Walmart not being allowed to have “Merry Christmas” signs up? They weren’t supposed to celebrate or do anything for Christmas, because it might offend some people. Well… with their little bright idea the made a lot of other people angry, because the majority of people in the united states celebrate Christmas. They were just being extremely stupid!
I was one of the people to stop shopping at Walmart until they finally said that they were going to do it this year! They have Christmas stuff everywhere. They have Christmas music playing and they even have some cashiers saying “Merry Christmas.
I understand for the few who don’t celebrate it that they would like to not see or hear it, but they have to understand that some of the things associated with Christmas isn’t even about God or Jesus. Like the tree for instance no religious value at all. Just like Santa Claus isn’t. They are just fun family events or traditions that begun a while back.
I guess they realized how stupid they were being and decided to get their sales back up. Any view points are admired. Best Wishes to all and Merry Christmas.
