How To Beat Procrastination

by johnlazy on October 17, 2008

Procrastination is a type of behavior which is characterized by postponement of actions or task to a later time.

I can say I’m guilty on this one. It’s really hard to beat procrastination especially if you are accustomed to it, but if you’re willing to step up a notch higher for your self -improvement, you can overturn procrastination into action. All we need to have is some sort of self-discipline and the mindset to accompany with it.
I’ll give you some simple practical tools on how to beat procrastination:

•    HAVE A MINDSET

First, if you want to beat procrastination you should have strategies on your mind. You have to carefully plan what are the task at hand, what you should do about it? And what time should you accomplish that task? So that the things you have to do is well organized.

•    TAKE SMALL STEPS

After figuring out what to do, take small steps on the task. Simple small steps can get things done. Example of this would be, cleaning papers on your desk or clean your room. Another one, if you want to go somewhere, starts walking. If you want to have a romantic relationship, start courting! It doesn’t matter if you’re a guy or girl the important thing is, show your emotions and do what you have to do. These simple steps can lead you to bigger things.

•    DO NOT WORRY

Worrying can give you stress and fatigue. Be calm; just believe that everything will fall into place. If you have to drop smaller task for bigger task, Do it! You are your own person; you can do whatever you like. If you mess up don’t worry, it’s okay, everybody does.

•    STAY FOCUS

There will be distractions that will come your way, be tolerant about it and continue what you are doing. Do not lose focus; this is the most important ingredient in staying out with procrastination. If you felt like your attention is on the wrong direction, give yourself a slap on the face so that your attention will be redirected to the right path again.
If you follow this simple practical tools to beat procrastination you will prevent stress, a sense of guilt, and loss of personal productivity.

So are you still procrastinating?
